The Study Planner is a comprehensive, offline-first productivity tool designed for students preparing for exams, competitive tests, or academic goals. It helps you organize your subjects, break down syllabi into manageable topics, generate study schedules, and track your progress—all without needing an internet connection or account. Ideal for high school students, university students, exam candidates (Board exams, SAT, GRE, UPSC, CSS, etc.), and anyone who wants to study smarter with spaced repetition and time-blocking techniques.
When you click "Generate Schedule" in Auto mode, the tool analyzes your subjects, difficulty levels, importance ratings, and the number of days until your deadline. It then distributes study sessions across your available hours using an intelligent algorithm that: (1) Prioritizes difficult subjects for morning slots when focus is highest, (2) Alternates between subjects to prevent fatigue, (3) Inserts breaks between sessions, and (4) Balances workload based on topic count per subject. You can regenerate anytime if priorities change.
The Smart Revision Scheduler uses proven Spaced Repetition principles to help you retain information long-term. When you mark a topic as complete, the tool automatically schedules three revision sessions: First: After 24 hours (immediate reinforcement), Second: After 7 days (medium-term retention), and Third: Before your exam (final consolidation). This scientifically-backed method significantly improves memory recall compared to cramming, making it essential for exam preparation.
Learning Mode is designed for regular study periods when you're covering new material—it schedules longer sessions (60+ minutes), includes revision cycles, and mixes topics for varied learning. Exam Mode is for intensive final preparation—it focuses on revision-only sessions, uses shorter 30-45 minute blocks for quick reviews, and prioritizes topics you've marked as "weak" or frequently missed. Switch between modes based on whether you're in the learning phase or the final revision crunch.
Navigate to the Syllabus tab, select a subject, and click "Add Chapter". For each chapter, you can then add individual topics. This hierarchical structure (Subject → Chapters → Topics) gives you granular control over your study progress. Mark topics as complete to see progress bars update in real-time. The completion percentage is calculated at chapter, subject, and overall levels—helping you identify weak areas that need more attention. You can also add estimates for how long each topic takes to study.
The built-in Pomodoro Timer helps you maintain focus using the 25/5/15 technique: 25 minutes of focused work, followed by a 5-minute short break, with a 15-minute long break after every 4 work sessions. The timer automatically switches between Work, Short Break, and Long Break modes. Completed Pomodoro sessions are logged to your study analytics, contributing to your daily streak and total study time tracking. You can customize session durations in the Settings panel.
The Backlog & Missed Task Handler automatically detects sessions that weren't completed on their scheduled date. These appear in your Dashboard's "Backlog" section with the original date and subject. You can quickly reschedule any backlog item to a new date, or if the content was covered through another session, you can dismiss it. This prevents tasks from "falling through the cracks" and ensures your study plan stays realistic and up-to-date.
The Analytics panel includes a streak tracker that counts consecutive days you've logged study time. Your Current Streak shows how many days in a row you've studied, while Best Streak records your all-time high. The visual heatmap calendar shows your activity over the past weeks—darker colors indicate more study time on that day. Research shows that streak-based gamification improves consistency, and seeing your progress visually reinforces positive habits.
Yes! Click the Export button (📤) and select "PDF Report". This generates a professional, print-ready document containing: your current streak and total study hours, active goal with deadline, all subjects with progress bars, upcoming 10 scheduled sessions, and a complete syllabus progress table. The PDF opens in a new tab where you can use your browser's print dialog to save as PDF or print directly. There's also a JSON backup option for importing your data on another device.
100% Private & Offline. All your study data—goals, subjects, chapters, topics, schedules, and analytics—is stored locally in your browser's localStorage. Nothing is ever uploaded to any server. This means: (1) You don't need an account or registration, (2) Your academic information stays completely private, (3) The tool works without internet after the initial page load, and (4) Your data persists across browser sessions on the same device. For backup across devices, use the JSON export/import feature.
