The Notes Tool is a powerful, privacy-focused digital notebook that runs entirely in your browser. It's designed for students, writers, developers, researchers, and anyone who needs a secure, offline-first note-taking solution. Create unlimited notes with rich text formatting or Markdown, organize them into folders and tags, and access them anytimeโeven without internet. Your data never leaves your device.
100% Private. This is a completely offline-first, client-side tool. All your notes are stored in your browser's LocalStorageโthey never get uploaded to any server. For extra security, you can password-lock individual notes to prevent unauthorized access.
Our Rich Text Editor includes: Bold, Italic, Underline, Strikethrough, Headings (H1-H4), Bulleted and Numbered Lists, Blockquotes, Tables, Checklists/To-Do Items, Code Blocks with language labels, Hyperlinks, Text Color and Highlight Colors. Switch to Markdown Mode with live preview for developers.
Create color-coded folders to categorize your notes. Add multiple tags (e.g., #exam, #chapter5) for flexible organization. Filter notes by folder or tag in the sidebar. Combine with full-text search for instant lookup across all notes.
Yes! The tool includes configurable autosave (5-60 seconds interval). A "Saved" indicator shows when your note is safely stored. Even if your browser crashes, your content is preserved. Press Ctrl+S to manually save anytime.
Absolutely! Click the Lock icon to set a password on any note. Locked notes show a lock badge and require the password to view or edit. Perfect for personal journals, private research, or sensitive content.
Every save creates a version snapshot. Click the History icon to view all previous versions with timestamps. Preview and restore any version. Configure maximum versions to keep in Settings.
Export notes as Plain Text (.txt), Markdown (.md), HTML (.html), or PDF. Backup All Notes to a JSON file containing all notes, folders, and settings for complete data portability.
100% Offline! Once the page loads, you can disconnect from the internet and continue creating, editing, organizing, and exporting notes. All data is stored locally in your browser's LocalStorage.
